September 2020 – February 2022 Since September 2020 Public Alternative has been working on strengthening the capacity of IT businesses, NGOs and academia to prevent human rights risks related to digital technologies. Key events (panel discussion, training course, discussion of materials) will be held in Kharkiv and Dnipro. The results of the project will be disseminated in different regions of Ukraine through IT clusters and NGOs and will be presented in the framework of external events (Odessa, Lviv, Poltava, Vinnytsia, Zaporizhia and others). During the IT business project, NGOs and academia will be informed about the basics of business human rights, a network of cooperation will be formed, as a result of which human rights will become a part of the business agenda, dialogue between civil society and government. The project is implemented with support of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Netherlands in Ukraine.

The grant “Gender sensitiveness of local policies and legal practices on internal displacement” has been implemented since September 2019 with the purpose to assess the situation in terms of gender mainstreaming in the work on the rights and interests of internally displaced persons and develop recommendations for local authorities, NGOs, businesses and lawyers. The pilot areas of the project were Kharkiv, Vinnytsia, Luhansk and Poltava regions. The project has been finalized with the release of six thematic publications in Ukrainian language. The materials will be useful for representatives of local governments, local authorities, judges, lawyers, specialists of free legal aid centers, civil society organizations and socially responsible business.

The project was implemented with support from The Council of Europe’s project “Internal Displacement in Ukraine: Building Solutions”.
